Virginia to Maryland - Enjoy Your Run State Line

I left Virginia behind and headed to Maryland, which welcomed me from my run across the Potomac but immediately required me to scramble down a big hill covered with poison ivy to reach Sandy Hook Road, and then to follow the kayaker path across the posted NO TRESPASSING signs, to jump on the C & O Canal Trail. It was a nice continuation of a pleasant morning run that only hinted of the coming heat and humidity later in the day. This trail serves triple duty along this stretch as a portion of the Appalachian Trail and as a bikepath for the DC crowd. But this early in the morning, it was mine: just me & my Crazy Ass Running Plan. #CARPe
