North Carolina to Georgia - Running the Dashed State Line

North Carolina to Georgia - Running the State Line from near Scaly Mountain towards Sky Valley, Georgia. It is all downhill - at least right at the state border, which is conveniently highlighted by a dashed line across the road and a small marker with state initials on the side. The mountain air was 20 degrees cooler and made an afternoon run fun.

North Carolina to Virginia - Downhill at the State Line

The Virginia Creeper Trail is a 35-mile rail-trail project, starting/finishing near the North Carolina Border. The section from North Carolina is almost all slightly downhill and, in addition to offering easy biking, it provides a chance for some easy speed work for runners. In my opinion, a long run here could be the best preparation for the Boston Marathon, since it is the downhill there that really does the damage to your legs. Boston Marathon? That is someone else's  Crazy Ass Running Plan. #CARPe

North Carolina to Tennessee - Running Hills at the State Border

Uphill the other way, though the road does at least have markings! Uphill both ways? Is that an old-timer's tale or the truth on my Crazy Ass Running Plan? #CARPe

North Carolina to South Carolina - Smiling Faces, Beautiful Runs

North Carolina to South Carolina. "Smiling Faces, Beautiful Places" reminded me of South Dakota's motto: "Great Faces, Great Places." I was smiling because I was back in shorts despite the light rain that was falling. Just off I-85, but miles away from the traffic and noise. Note: I did not put on my running headlight despite the rain! All gear is optional, depending on your own  Crazy Ass Running Plan. #CARPe
